Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept

Land Rover has just showed the Discovery "Vision Concept" to anticipate the future design of the next models,  Discovery and Freelander.

It looks so dynamic and futuristic with its optimised volume and proportions even if It's not as aggressive as Range Rover family.
Discovery's DNA is evident thanks to optimised volume, proportions and dramatic silhouette, stepped roof and the short front and rear overhangs reducing the visual length.
Front and rear sides are characterized by headlamps and taillights which makes modern, aggressive and lovely this car. Looking the Vision Concept in profile, you won't find any handle because doors are operated by gesture control like smartphones!

Interior is characterized by a modern visual simplicity and has been created in order to be spacious and comfortable. All parts of interior are wrapped in blue/cream leather with aluminium and wood inserts everywhere.
What makes special this interior is surely the Hi-Tech characterization. We find two small displays on the steering wheel to manage the infotainment system and a big display featured in the instrument cluster. Turn signals and headlamp functions are operated by gesture control.

Discovery Vision Concept is full of new technological systems:

-Laser headlamps: These lights utilise laser technology and they emit a bright and white light similar to                                         daylight. The power of these headlamps beam adds a distance of over 300 metres to                                     the range of the headlight.

-Smart Glass & Passenger HMI: This is a truly amazing technology. All the Glass Surface can display                                                              imagery, like a computer screen being completely transparent, like                                                                regular glass.
The smart glass in the window can work in conjunction with eye-                                                                  tracking sensors and the vehicle's sat-nav system to identify that,  for                                                            instance, a passing landmark is being observed by one of the vehicle's                                                            passengers.

-Remote Control Drive: Thanks to it, we can move the car with a remote controller at low speeds via                                                smartphones and tablets.

-Laser Terrain Scanning: Using laser-foglamps, the LTS can scan the ground ahead, map the terrain and                                             display the mapped imagery on the cluster screen.

-Terrain Response: The Terrain Response system not only analyses the type of terrain being traversed but                                   also proactively anticipates upcoming terrain via Laser Terrain Scanning and forward-                                   facing camera sensors, and instantly engages the appropriate system to best respond                                     to that type of terrain and situation.
There's also the Wade Aid, new sensory wading system that uses laser technology to                                     inform the driver about the depth of water the car's crossing
